Knife steel
Sandvik 14C28N: Swedish steel with high hardness and edge retention, high toughness, good sharpenability and corrosion resistance. Hardness 60-62HRC
1.1274 (C100): German low-alloy steel with a high carbon content. Very sharp, very easy to sharpen, not corrosion-resistant. Similar to Japanese paper steel. Hardness 60-62HRC
Böhler M390: Powder metallurgical steel with extremely high wear resistance, meaning the blade stays sharp for a very long time. In addition, it is highly tough and corrosion-resistant. Hardness 62-63HRC
Each knife is tested on a hardness tester.
Knife handle
Different materials can be chosen for the handle:
East Frisian bog oak: Subfossil oak wood that has lain in the moors of East Frisia for hundreds to thousands of years and has therefore acquired its very own color. The bog oak wood is preserved with epoxy resin before processing.
Ebony: Very dense, dark, often black wood with a fine texture and high hardness. It is used for luxury furniture, instruments and carvings.
Blade treatment and coating
Polished: The steel is ground with increasingly fine sandpaper and then polished on a machine. This creates a high shine.
Sandblasted (Bead Satin Finish): The steel is sandblasted with fine corundum and then processed with very fine sandpaper. This creates a matt gray surface.
Cerakote: After the main grinding and fine grinding, the knife steel is given a very thin Cerakote coating. Cerakote is a ceramic used for coating weapons. It is extremely hard and wear-resistant, offers corrosion protection and creates a special aesthetic.
Knife sheath
The UK knife sheath is a Kydex-leather hybrid. It is made of Kydex plastic on the inside and leather on the outside. This means that it is dimensionally stable and protected against moisture like a Kydex sheath, but has the classic look and aesthetics of a pure leather sheath.
A leather belt loop is fitted as standard for carrying. This is suitable for belts up to 45mm wide, can be worn in 3 positions and can be adjusted using the key provided.
Alternative carrying attachments: The customer can have a TEK-LOK, TEK-LOK SMALL or Ulticlip Slim 2.2 mounted on request. The leather belt loop is then also included.
